10 to 12 beers? I don't buy that. It's not 10 to 12 beers that made her do that. She was either using drugs as well, or she's severely lacking crucial components in the brain department.
But shooting her kid in the leg over a 1 dollar bet does make you wonder how she lived to be 8 years old.
The complaint said a county social worker has been involved with the family dating to several months before the shooting, but authorities said confidentiality laws prohibit any comment on the case.
In general, Sheboygan County social workers try to keep families together, even in cases of child abuse, said Therese Janssen, child protective services supervisor.
"If at all possible, we put a safety plan in the home to keep the child (there)," she said, adding that the plan could include supervision by a social worker or in-home therapy. "If that works, that's our best-case scenario."

With 10-10-220, a dollar is a twenty minute phone call and only 10 cents a minute after that!
