Was it alive when they caught it, or did they find it dead. I know that they have seen dead ones on the beach, but have never been able to find one still alive.

that is some crazy stuff. It looks like none of the scientists are wearing gloves, seems pretty disgusting, especially that guy holding squid eggs.
