Personally, I avoid cans altogether; I just don't like the taste that they rub-off (heh, rub-off) on the beer. Except, for some reason, Fosters (Australian for kangaroo piss) isn't half-bad out of the can; but tastes like piss from bottle or keg.

Sorry, Alton; I get worked up over Mexican beers. I've only had three that I've found tolerable, and only two that I like. Everything else that I haven't liked anything else that I've had from Mexico.

Generally I like the German beers and the Belgians. My favorite type of beer is a Vienna Lager, I'm also really fond of Dunkels and Weissebiers, red ales, scottish ales, and irish ales. I've also recently discovered an affinity for white ales.

I happen to consider myself to be a beer connoisseur, and belong to a beer community (beer advocate), and America has been putting out some really good beers. And American beers actually won a lot of awards this year, Oregon in particular housing a lot of breweries that came home with medals.

Did she make the cider herself, or did she buy cider and try to let it ferment? If it was the former, it needed more time; if it was the latter, you have to be careful which cider you buy as most of them are now processed so that they cannot fement. You have to find some "local" cider, a farm or small company that produces it, and it will likely say "unprocessed" right on the label. that's the stuff that will ferment. Leave it in the fridge a good three weeks beyond the experation date and you have hard cider.
