« Mershaullk : Anyone who is against this or suicide in general just thinks that they know more than the person trying to do it. That they know what's better for them. To tell the truth, you might, but it's still their own body, and they should be able to do whatever they damn well please with it.
In a way, you're right, but in another you're far from being right. Getting rid of yourself over things that CAN be fixed is not okay and yeah, it is selfish.

If you are terminally ill and theres no hope even when doing treatments, then I can understand. If you find a rut in your life, its not okay to just end it. Besides that, everyone has a responsibility and to just let it all go for something that trivial is selfish. People can't just move on if their friend or family outs themselves. I wish my two friends were still alive. Theres a difference in how they went.

John had a horrible motorcycle accident that left brain damage. Even before he could get something fixed, the blood clott killed him.

Patrick, whom I was friends with in highschool offed himself with a gun. The only thing people can see what went wrong is to go to depression. In a way, depression can be fixed. It is an inbalance of chemicals in the brain. He could've been taken care of.

I truly miss both of my friends. You will never know how life is not the same when you justify if people want to commit suicide over ANYTHING is okay and its their life and they may do whatever they want. In that aspect, you are wrong.

Of you're saying that he should have stayed in whatever emotional turmoil he was in just because you would feel bad if he didn't, you're being selfish as well.

My argument still stands that it's their body, and they have every right to do whatever they want with it. No matter how selfish it may be. You have no right to choose what someone else can and can't do to themselves.

Emotional turmoil can be fixed, physical problems cannot. There is a difference. One day you feel like crap and the next you're fine. You may try to justify it anyway you can, but its still wrong. Actually, I do have a right since I love and care about them. If they have a family to look after, I think its wrong. Theres so much more to life than just doing things for yourself.

Time to open your eyes and look around and think about how you can help someone else.

Okay, then. The government has no right to tell anyone what they can and can't do with their body.

Time to open your eyes and look around and think about how you can help someone else.
Was that some lame attempt at an insult? Are you insinuating that I don't help anyone in my life? I assure you, you are wrong.

No, it was no insult. But you ALWAYS seem to think just because your opinion differs from someone else that you are ALWAYS right. Which, I have proven. I never said the government had a right to choose, I said the families and friends did. Maybe you should reread?

I'm done with the argument. Time for you to move on as well.

Everyone always thinks they are right in the present. Why would you ever think something while simultaneously thinking it's wrong?

I do realize that I am not always right, but that is only with hindsight.

I never said the government had a right to choose, I said the families and friends did. Maybe you should reread?
That's the exact reason I reworded what I had said.
