Music is the wine that fills the cup of silence said Robert Fripp. Professor Adrian North says that once you've filled the cup of silence you should fill your wine glass and enjoy the two.

I'd always thought it the other way round, but what do I know?

I don't like dry wine so I typically go for Port, Riesling, or dessert wines. Outside whether a wine falls into one of those three categories I can't usually tell except whether the bottler missed the categorical mark entirely.

What's funny is even during blind taste tests when drinking red wine that they see and are told came from a white wine bottle and vice-versa the so-called "professionals" gave reviews as if the white wine was indeed red.

I like to kid myself that I can tell a good wine from a bad, but in truth, as long as it doesn't make my eyes water or my throat bleed I'm good.

Did you ever see the Penn & Teller BS about bottle water?

That's some impressive labelling power.
