...best inventions of 2008, and it's only May?

I actually really do hate it when magazines/blogs round out lists of "best-ofs" continuously when they don't have anything else to write about. I mean, when you list a "best of" list and your readers can go "ooh yeah, I remember reading about that in this publication" it's an instant boost to reader loyalty when people like to think that they're in the know when they're just reading a summary of what's been done.
