Did your wife smoke while she was breastfeeding? I ask because when I was breastfeeding I got shot in the face lots of times (ask any woman who has breastfed, it is a common occurance) and it was actually really sweet. I also pumped and never noticed a smell at all. I would compare the taste of my breast milk to Nestle strawberry milk that's how sweet it was. Way better than the metallic tasting formula my daughter refused to drink.

My ex-h said my breastmilk was really sweet tasting. My current husband says the same. Of course, neither wants to set there and feed, but they've both had a taste. (foreplay when breasts are full, umm..they learned to stay away from the boobs during that time..lol)

I could never see going past 2 years...my 3rd was fed for 18mths and I figure I will go the same amount of time with this lil guy.

I really can't see much beneficial going into 7/8 years. If they want it, a glass of it would be suffice. It has nothing with me seeing breasts as sexual... I'd feel the same way if the kid was sucking on a bottle at that age. Sorry, time to cut away the nipple and go for the cup...lol.

And I thought my sister went too long when she breastfed her daughter for 2 1/2 years.

Yikes. These girls are going to have some weird thoughts...already have-the one wants to breast feed herself.

As for the husband tasting, I don't see anything wrong with that as long as he's not suckling at the same time as a baby. If he does it when his now older daughter does it, that's just freaky.

Mom must be pleased about not menstruating too.

I stopped breastfeeding when I was 6. The milk stopped coming much earlier than that, but oh well, I was just a child I guess. I stopped when I entered school, because I think I found it too embarrassing. I think 8 is quite old though, but it's probably up to the child. My mother often encouraged me to stop. I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

As the youngest kid, I guess I was pampered a lot to begin with. I only got out of the pram at the age of 6 too, mostly because I was too lazy to walk. Things didn't work that way with my 3 older siblings; they stopped breastfeeding at 2 years old, and practically had to walk everywhere.

it seems a way to make herself feel attractive "the girls really love my breasts" but the not letting her get dressed, trying to suckle the teet *shudders* and not letting her put a bra on... the only thing we can say for certain is that her boobs will hang around her ankles when she's old...

Breastfeeding doesn't stop you from menstruating. It can delay it for a month or so but a mother will start menstruating again within 8 to 10 weeks of giving birth. I breastfed until my daughter was 8 months old and got a period again when she was 10 weeks old. My grandma was breastfeeding her oldest son when she got pregnant with her daughter. She found out she was pregnant because my uncle started getting sick from the breastmilk and the doctor asked if she could be preggers again and when they checked she was. Breastfeeding will help to shrink your uterus and help to lose the baby weight, but it won't stop you from getting your monthly visitor.
