Angry kids protest gas prices after losing cable TV
Sadie and Pyper Vance have had just about enough of high gas prices. The sisters are still years away from being old enough to drive, but that doesn't mean the $4 per gallon price tag isn't hitting them as hard as anyone else. picked by AutumnLotus 2 months ago

Does picketing count as exercise? How about if you are restricted to a "free speech zone"?

I just wish Americans would stop crying about the high price of fuel - they don't know what a high price is until they go to some of the other nations of the world.

Get over it!!

Getting over it is exactly what the BILLIONs of dollars a year profit oil companies would like us to do.

Everything is relative. For us, this is a new all time high for fuel for this country so of COURSE we are going to have something to say about it. We always have something to say.

So, perhaps you should "get over" us "crying" about high fuel prices.

Ah, the ironic typo - no-one is safe from its cruel, cruel ways.

You'd do more than 'cry' if you were paying around twelve dollars a gallon like the UK drivers!

Let's play with some numbers, shall we?

Okay. As of 6/18/08 the sources I found show the UK at an average of 8.76. The average in the US is 4.31.

From 2000 to 2008 the increase in gas in the UK has risen 110%.

From 2000 to 2008 the increase in gas in the US has risen 195%

That is a difference in 85% increase in gas for the US (us crying Americans) vs the UK in 8 years.

This year alone, the UK has seen a mere 13% increase since 1/08 while the US has seen a 29% increase. IN 6 MONTHS TIME.

As far as I am concerned, that is quite a hike in gas price and you're darn tootin' I am going to have something to say about it.

BTW: I don't think that it has ever been implied by anyone I know, and I know a lot of Americans, that we do not feel for the rest of the PLANET when it comes to gas and oil prices.

My sources were found here

There is nothing on that page to indicate whether the measurement being used is in US Gallons or the rest of the world gallons. However these are the current prices in the UK which do not match that page -
UK Petrol Prices for
Tuesday 24th Jun 2008
Avg. Min. Max.
Unleaded: 118.7p 113.9p 129.9p
Diesel: 132.0p 126.9p 145.9p
LRP: 121.8p 115.9p 126.9p
Super: 125.5p 116.9p 139.9p

As you can see the highest price for Unleaded is $11.62 a UK Gallon.
Diesel, which I use, at the highest price works out at $12.92 a UK Gallon.

So even allowing for the smaller US Gallon that pages prices are way way out!

It clearly states that it is in US gallons.

It clearly states at the top that it is in US dollars so I assume it is gallons too.
So, do me a favor, with your information, that I would love to see where you got it, find out how much the % is in increase.

While I sympathize with their plight, I think their parents need to encourage them to figure out new ways for them to entertain themselves. Read a book, play a board game, do crafts or better yet go outside and play in the sunshine. I think with the rising prices, we are all going to have to change our lifestyles and learn to adapt. They might as well learn young that you don't always get what you want in life.

Wow.
Good to see kids are so concerned about the REAL problems of the world and how "seriously" they affect them.

Wow.
