Ok...you win...I removed it...it was a little overboard...but the whole thing IS ridiculuos and it WOULD hold the same "merit" if the American Indians tried the same lawsuit. The difference is that they have molded partially into our society and I would hope realize that there is no possibility off going back. So other then the money they are asking for, it is pointless.

As long as I can go there whenever I please, and we get to keep pearl harbor, then I don't see why they can't have their independence. Other than the fact that no one even cares they exist.

They can't go back to the way they were beforehand; too much has changed. Let's be honest: none of us can go back to "the way things were" now.

This doesn't mean I don't support Hawaiian independence, it just means that I think it would have to be achieved and maintained in a different manner than in the past.

Well if that's the ONLY need then I'm sure the imperial forces of the red white and blue can work out a deal to keep their precious base just like they have bases in other countries as well.

In a perfect world, yes. But they are not the same Hawaii they were then. I'm not sure they could support themselves now. They would have to import almost everything from foreign countries.

Chinook, yes I am American.
I remember learning the hula and how to pronounce King Kamahamaha's name in school,. but not much else.
I think the US will ignore it until it goes away, the same as when Texas wanted to be it's own country, or Washington state wants to split into 2 states.
