I didn't understand any of that, but found it pretty damn interesting nonetheless. I've always wondered how to solve these.

Videos don't typically work well, I've found.

For those interested, I used the techniques of Lars Petrus (http://lar5.com/cube/). I haven't done it in a while, but the best time I had was 43 seconds or so.

It's not as impossible as it sounds, especially as you start recognizing patterns and training your hands.

prying the thing apart with a screwdriver and reassembling the pieces always worked for me!

Good. It's a trade secret. Knowing how it works spoils the fun of watching cubers such as myself solve it.

"Cubers?" You are an organized group? Like Shriners?

I used to charge school buddies 50p a time to solve theirs. I'd take it away, disassemble the little blocks then put it back together. It was always a little looser after but hey, what do you expect for 50p ?

I always gave up on this thing. Maybe I'll have to dig out the old cube and give it a try...

Not really organized. A cuber is just someone who can easily solve a Rubik's cube in less than ten minutes. More skilled cubers such as myself cando it in under two minutes, and can solve a 4x4x4 cube in less than fifteen.

Ah, so why didn't you say so? Professional cuber. A Noble calling.
