This kind of stuff really chaps my butt. I hope they catch the boyfriend and make sure he and the girlfriend spend eternity in prison.

With a statement like this, you have to wonder if the mother was a heavy drinker while pregnant.

Can babies build a tolerance that way?

I imagine a tolerance could be built up if the mother was drinking while pregnant. I don't understand why that wouldn't have caused developmental issues with the liver but perhaps it did. Either way, the kid didn't go down to the local pub and order a scotch! People make me sick sometimes!!!

I would think that the report would say something about "fetal alcohol syndrome" if the baby was THAT used to it by birth. but there wasnt.

I also think it would be hard for MOTHER not to tell that her baby had liquor on its breath.
