I assume similar things have been done before by both parties. I would also bet that over the years and years there has been a lot of threats behind the scenes along the lines of "print that story and you'll never have access to the white house again".

True-ish... while I'm sure there have been similar things, do note that even someone like Helen Thomas gets a seat in the press room, even though she is an over-the-top partisan, and doesn't really work for a mainstream publication anymore.

Obama needs to lighten up and be able to laugh at himself a little bit. He should be thankful for the New Yorker expressing the ridiculousness of neoconservative claims.

You may not be aware of this but half the crap shown in the picture were put out there by the Clinton campaign.

But you seem to have ignored the more important part where it wasn't just neoconservatives' ridiculousness.

I think it's pretty safe to say that its mostly right wing conservatives that believe Obama is a muslim terrorist, but I don't really care to argue about it. It's not the point I'm making.

There's wackos on both sides of the political spectrum and criticizing one side while ignoring the other is hypocritical.

I use to read the New Yorker as my stepdad was a subscriber, usually they are pretty entertaining. In my opinion, this bit on Obama was not only over the line but just not funny in the least, I expect better from them.
