Not to burst everyone's "consent" bubble, but I think they can give consent. If you try and take a toy away from a dog, and it wants to keep it, it'll either growl at you or bite you. That's saying "I don't like it when you do that." I can imagine that a dog is smart enough to think "I don't like this, I don't want this." and let someone know. In a way they can consent, you just have to pay attention to the dog.

Well, in legal terms consent must be verbal (i believe, anyway). While grabbing your crotching and kissing your neck may be a clear signal, legally speaking it's insignifigant. That said, i'm thinking the dogs are probably going to be more upset about losing the regular sex than anything else.

So next time I want to have sex with someone, I can't just give them the look? I have to say "I give consent for you to put your dingy in my dango" or it's rape?

Interesting. Apparently in Oklahoma, dumping a dog, or another animal, along side a road, to abandon it, is a misdemeanor.

Transporting in a way to be deemed torture, is a misdemeanor.

Poisoning a dog, is a misdemeanor.

Yet letting a dog have sex with you while your husband video tapes it, is a felony.

Anybody care to explain the reason for the stiffer charge??

In my opinion, bestiality is just wrong. I don't care how much you use "logic and reason" to justify it. It's twisted.

So if we are drawing the line at "sex with people only" does that mean we should close down every sex shop and start arresting every woman who has a vibrator? I think that sex with animals is way grody, but that doesn't mean it's wrong. I also think that two guys kissing is way grody too, but I'm not going to tell them that they can't do it. I can tolerate this woman having sex with her dog, but I'm not ever going to accept that it is right. The only thing is, we can't make laws on morality alone because there are too many opinions on what is moral exactly. The only thing that I could see making this illegal is all the other things that come with it. Forcing women to do things to animals for the pleasure of others comes to mind, but in that case the forcing would be illegal, not the actual sexual acts. Maybe we could argue that the son seeing these tapes has damaged him to the point where this is illegal, I know that if I saw my mom banging a dog I would be pretty f*****ed up for a good long time.

And homosexuality used to be considered a mental illness as did people being left-handed.

I'm not saying I get turned on by sex with animals or that I would do it, I'm just saying who are we to judge people who do engage in it and who are we to impose our values on others

Personally I think it is gross. It makes me wonder why this woman, or any human, would find having sex with animal other than human fun, a turn on, interesting, etc. It just ain't my bag.

I can't see it being abuse to the dog(s) as they are answering a basic animal instinct therefore I see no reason for any type of charges to be brought on these people at all.

Yeah, I don't like it, but I'm not the one doing it and it isn't affecting me or my family for her to be doing it so I really don't care.

What about the deaf? Don't they have a right to consent then?

Here's a story. I was in Missouri once visiting a cousin of my high-school boyfriend. Now we're talking backwoods Misourri, like the little turd bit that hangs down into Arkansas. Well while we were at his cousin's house, he offered us some deer jerky. It was really good. Then he said that the deer we were eating used to be his pet until he caught it with his girlfriend. Yeah, he came home and caught his girl getting it on with his pet buck, you read that right. So he kicked the girl out and shot his buck and made deer jerky. It was really good as I said, but I couldn't bring myself to eat anymore. Neither could my boyfriend. Hmmmm... methinks people would have a change of heart when one of those dogs ends up chasing a kid down the street with the old "pink lipstick" dangling.

To me, there is no comparison between homosexuality and having sex with animals. That's comparing apples to oranges. Human to human vs. human to animal. Not the same.

I didn't think this needed clarification but I was referring to drawing lines between species of animal.

Sex toys are inanimate objects and people are free to stick them wherever they'd like.

I didn't say there was a comparison, the analogy was about peoples perspectives not on the acts themselves.
