How my mother's fanatical views tore us apart
How my mother's fanatical views tore us apart

I can understand that many women used to be slaves to their husbands and kids, but I cannot understand how anyone could view them as nothing but.

Too bad Alice Walker SOOO missed out.
If she felt that way I wonder why she married and had kids in the first place.

Thing is that this woman sounds well adjusted, professional, successful. Sounds like she's doing what she wants to do with the life her mother gave her. No one has the elusive perfect childhood. Trials in life make us tougher. Quit complaining and go ahead and enjoy your successes.
