I don't think it'll be tough. Managing a team with a $250+ million payroll should be pretty easy. Torre had a poor record until he came to the Yanks.

True, and since Mattingly is a NYC favorite, I'd bet that Yankee management (i.e. the Boss) won't let him falter in his first season managing (whenever that might be). They'll prolly double the payroll.
