Only when they got back to Western Kentucky and turned their prisoner over to the jail did anyone confirm through fingerprints and mug shots what their prisoner had been saying all along:

Rogue Truck Careens down Wrong Lane, Off Overpass Posted: 6 months ago by chinook
After driving on the wrong side of the highway in Edmonton for approximately 20km, a rogue semi truck crashed into a guardrail and flew off an overpass and exploded. Though many cars hit the ditch to avoid the semi, the only casualty was the semi driver.
