I second that! Everyone thinks that because we've been together for three years that we should be getting married.

Weddings are expensive, and we both would rather travel then get married for now, and after seeing the antics of some engaged/married people I know lately, a ring on his finger won't mean he's any more devoted to me. Why my parents don't understand this is beyond me.

Vanity sizes. Who's idea was it to label big clothes with a small number? I am shaking my fist at you!!! A medium should not hang off my body in the same way an XL would. I hate having to pick my usual size and then work my way down the numbers to find the one that fits. How does taking a size 8 and relabelling it to a size 6 make the world a better place? Doesn't that just contribute to the obesity epidemic? ?!

Also, my feet are size 6, not size XS. ARRGH!!!

I used to play my violin, daily, for over a decade, but mostly gave it up after I moved to a hick town where nobody else seemed interested in playing music together just for fun. I still occasionally played some music I had, but only once or twice a year.

I've lived in Portland, OR for 2 years now, so recently I made the decision to take up the violin again. Within a week I ran across a craigslist ad for someone in my area looking for a violinist to help form a small band to play music from the 1920s - 40s (some of my favorite music!). Yesterday we met and plan to get together later this week to try out some music. Yesterday evening I took out my violin to try out some sheet music from that era that I'd found online. In the middle of tuning, the bridge snapped in half.

Yeah, it's only a $5 or so piece, but today I went to get it and the store was closed, so I have to wait till tomorrow evening to get it, and I'm supposed to go practice on Thursday!

I wanted more than a day to practice before then!

Beings a cellist, I feel for you. Snapped bridge, man that makes me cringe. Gets me all watery in the pit of my eye.
