I'd really, really like it if there was a way you could remove blogs from the results of any search I make.

You could just add "-blog" to whatever you're searching, without the quotes...

They're conditioned to assume that all females are damsels in distress.

It's one stereotype I continually battle at work. I get annoyed when men get handed a job because everyone assumes I (and the other women around) aren't capable of doing it. While I'll happily admit I can't carry a 70kg pack all day, or I can't reach the tops of all of the tents, I can fix a motor and carry a 50kg pack all day.

Grrrrr.

And one last 'let it out' for the night:

I'm bloody sick of hearing everyone refer to all Muslims as violent and potential terrorists and to mockingly refer to Islam as the 'religion of peace.'

Yes, there are some very horrible and violent muslim terrorists. There are also some terrible Irish terrorists - shall we start refering to the Irish as dangerous people and discriminate against them, too?

Are all Americans ignorant gun-totin' pigs?
Are all Christians intolerant fundamentalists?
Are all blonde women clueless bimbos?
Are all persons of Asian decent nerdy but bad drivers?

So why assume all muslims are violent and hateful?

I disagree with you. Sometimes I type facts, and sometimes I type my opinion. I like to indicate to people that I distinguish my own, or anyone's, opinions from facts.

You can easily state an opinion without it being misconstrued as a fact. (i.e. Ice cream is awesome. Tom Waits is the greatest songwriter ever. Obama is the best candidate for president. Pit bulls aren't as mean as everyone says they are. The color brown is pleasing to the eye. etc. etc.)
