Mr. Grey and I saw Iron Man last night and it kicked my ass! SO awesome. Anyone else an Iron Man reader who has seen the film?

Not *personally* an Iron Man reader, but my ex-bf was, and he passed on all the knowledge he could.

It was good. I think it matches "Batman: The Dark Knight" in awesome comic reinvention, but is a lighter film. How do you think it ranks?

Anyone have advice for a soon-to-be college grad? I know it's supposed to be exciting, but I'm all panic. Not the good kind. The OMG-dont-make-me-go kind.
And I'm feeling a bit like I'm standing on a pile of swirling, shifting sands, about to be sucked under.
I'll take advice on everything: knowing you like that first job, getting apartments, generic life-advice? Is the real world as horrifying as I think it might be? >.>

Honest? You probably won't like your first job. Especially if you build it up as the culmination of years of schooling. Start looking and interviewing as soon as you can. Interview for positions you don't really want, because the experience will be beneficial.

Once you get a job--look into investment options. Might not seem worth it NOW, but an additional $25 is much for a month but will make a huge difference in a 401K 30 years from now, and many businesses will match your contributions.

Are you planning on living on your own, or with a room-mate? Do you know how to budget? If not-research it. Figure out now what expenses you'll have, and where you can save or do without. Don't expect to be able to afford somewhere great, and don't go to someplace where you'll be at the max of your budget.

The real world isn't that scary. :D

I've got an internship, which is great and all, but it means that literally the day after I graduate, I'm leaving, for a new town where I don't know anybody (so, living alone first time ever), and don't know what to expect. My life plan is set only for the next three months...

There isn't a news story posted yet, but Eight Belles, the filly who took 2nd place at today's Kentucky Derby, collapsed after the race, breaking both front ankles and was immediately euthanized.

RIP Eight Belles. You ran one hell of a race against the 19 big boys.

So I was at the ER the other night. Not for myself, but for my sister. She sliced her thumb open....how, you ask? Well, I'll tell you. She was taking acrylic glue from her nails with the swiss army knife(that I got her, no less). She slipped, and sliced her hand open. How, I have no clue, I wasn't paying attention, and then I saw blood. We ended up in the ER until 2 am....she's got 12 stitches, btw and is fine.

I think you and your sister should stay away from swiss army knives. Look what happened to you. Lost it to your poop.

i've had a class that taught acrylic painting, but i don't recall hearing anybody say the right way to remove spilt pain was with a knife ... nobody said it was the wrong way either, but i don't think it was necessary to experiment with that.

oh wait ... acrylic glue? i haven't worked with that stuff, but i still don't think a swiss army knife was an adequate solution.

if your sister tries to use a gun to kill a fly, then you may need to introduce your sis to the men in white coats.
