What are your thoughts on dating a woman with a child?

The baby is 2 months old. She left the dead beat dad, is working a job to support the child. She is really cool, and I dig her. I just am curious if anyone else has been in this situation.

I have. I went out with someone for a while who had a one year old.

He deploys to Afghanistan in September. I have always considered him my son even though biologically he is not.

The only advice I can give you is to be careful around the child. Witha 2 month old, it's not an issue now...But it will be, as the baby matures. A close friend dated a woman with a child, and fell in love with them both. That made the breakup even more difficult, and he lingered in the relationship well past it's expiration date.

I fixed it so you need an upvote from a level two user. Then the 69 will be restored.

I've dated a girl with a 5 year old and another had a 2 year old... they were both strippers ironically.. i dont ever recomend dating a stripper.. :-/

I dated a girl with a 2 year old, once. It wasn't my thing... I'm just not a fan of children, I guess. The little girl loved me, though. She really loved to pet my hair. :) That relationship ended when she turned up pregnant. Uh, it fo' SHO' wasn't mine! Even if she hadn't gotten pregnant, I'm positive the relationship would have ended soon, anyway. I wasn't ready to be a Mom.

I dated (very briefly) a girl with a 5 year old. Her parenting idea and mine were very different. She let that hell-spawn do what ever he wanted. When I wouldn't give him candy (or whatever he wanted) he would come over and bite me. He would also try to kick my in the ...um... area where men don't want to be kicked.

If I tried to discipline him, the mom (my girlfriend) would get really pissed at me.

So - in a nutshell - if you're going to be in the kids life, then you need to make sure you both agree on how to raise a kid.

I don't think it should be an issue. If you rule out women with children, you are restricting your dating pool.

By the time your 35, it's going to be smaller than wading pool with a leak.

Personally, every woman I've dated since 21, had children. I guess I have a MILF fetish. Well, along with my other fetishes. :)

It doesn't matter. Unless he's rich, the number of women under, say, 28, that will give him the time of day will be smaller than the childless women in his age group.

Let me be the first to point out, a relationship with a man that has children is even more complicated.
