« donteatpoop : Yeah, but most people don't beat off to paintings whereas the opposite is true for playboy.
Is that why they have guards in galleries then? To keep an eye out for the small minority who consider it their goal in life to give the Mona Lisa a monocle?

There's worryingly a lot of pictures of kids in that video. Strange.

Of the people that posted on there, I agree with #5 Alan. This should not have been (and I doubt it was) any surprise.
Letting his girls read Playboy is one thing, posting pictures of it is another. I believe he got exactly what he wanted.

I haven't seen a playboy in probably...5, 6 years? My first viewing, I think I was maybe 5. There wasn't anything shocking, there wasn't anything graphic. I knew that it was prettied up, I never felt I should look like they did. My parents didn't give me Playboys to read, but they didn't make a huge deal out of them. I grew up on a ranch, though, so the basics of sex were clear from a very early age...and NOT that big of a deal.

That said...I don't think the Playboy is really a teaching magazine. This guy is clearly going for attention, and that poor child is going to have to deal with the consequences as her school mates discover she's been checking out naked chicks.

The most worrying being the shirtless boy with his mouth wide open. I have no idea wtf that's about.

Well whatever the intention of the person of who made the video, it made me laugh.

Out loud too, so I was glad I waited til I was back from work.

His douchebaggedness is certainly shining on through, ain't it? I especially liked your strippers/hookers metaphor, though.

Thanks. I thought it was a good metaphor too. But apparently I just need to get laid.

He said "further comments where emotion trumps content will be deleted" as a warning. I don't know why he was reading emotion into my comments, I think maybe I was just making sense and he didn't like it, I don't know.

Anyway, we'll see how long my comments stay up there, I swear I was being civil. I'm not even worked up over the issue or anything, and I don't think that I attacked him in any way (except for insulting myself on his behalf).

I couldn't hold off any longer and had to comment.

Here's what I said in case he deletes..

It seems to me as if this whole article is designed to convince yourself through other peoples approval that letting your child look at soft-porn is ok.

As a parent myself I think what you’ve done by letting your child read Playboy is irresponsible parenting. I’m sure you are a great parent but even great parents make mistakes and I think this is such a case only it takes a big person to admit their mistakes and I don’t think you are that big person.

I’m personally aroused by seeing naked females and maybe the fact that you aren’t says something about your sexual preferences.

In any case, the very fact that you took pictures of your daughter posing with a Playboy magazine and posted them in public tells me two things.

1: You know that it’s not the “norm” and that it’s photo worthy subject.

2: You are obviously a bit of an attention seeker and I strongly feel you have here what you desire, attention. It’s just a shame that it’s at the expense of your daughter.

I shall now resort to ad hominem and say that you sir, are a bag of douche.

I just hate the way he's so desperately trying to defend something that I have the feeling he knows is wrong.

As a parent it's your responsibility to monitor and censor what your kids are exposed to and to allow your young child to look at what is, however you look at it, soft-porn is reprehensible and bad parenting IMO.

I hate attention whores, with a passion.

It's been years since I have seen an issue, and most pictures were done very tasteful, so, yeah "soft" porn is a good description. I also feel that any type of porn objectifies women and some men's perception of what a real woman is or should be can become quite distorted. And I tend to question someone's respect of women when they view some of this crap. That's my opinion. This young girl may end up having serious self esteem and confidence issues as she grows older by being allowed to look at this.

Let's just hope he doesn't start allowing his children to surf porn on the 'net. There is some serious disgusting sh!t out there.

« davbob : Funny you should bring this up now. I don't know if you have been listening to the radio at all today but every half hour we have been hit with a news story that they want to start teaching Sex and Relationship classes to kids as young as 4. I know you are a parent, would you like your kids to take part in this?

I for one would not.
oh, so you're like my parents who would rather your kid get their technical information from the highschoolers on the bus?

pffft
