Seriously though, it's shops like Spar and Londis over here and in America the 7/11's, or were you wanting specifics about what a convenience store is?

It is a retail store that carries a limited selection of basic items, as beer, packaged foods, and drugstore items, and is open long hours for the convenience of shoppers.

By this definition Piggly Wiggly would not qualify as one because by size it is a supermarket, however the hours, the location and the presentation are similar to a convenience store's parameters.

I had a bad experience in the convenience store I used to work at.

crackhead + gun + me behind the counter = bad experience.

While a strawberry-nutella crepe is tempting, I stay with the Convenience Stores.
