Actually the Brits drive on the LEFT 'to make sure that a stranger passed on the right so you could go for your sword in case he proved unfriendly.'

It is not correct to say drive on the right/left hand side of the ROAD because when travelling in either direction the left/right is always different. So there is no left or right hand side of the "road" so to speak.
astoria is correct for saying the Brits drive on the RIGHT side of CARS.
The website needs correcting. It's got it all wrong.
