I didn't even know who she was until the tabloids kept her illness on the front page. She put up quite a fight. I admire her tenacity and efforts to raise money for her children. RIP Jade.

I had vague knowledge of her because of her spat with Shilpa Shetty, then saw the coverage of her after the cancer diagnosis.

Same here Suebe...I had a brief tangle with cervical cancer and I think it's great that she used her fame to raise awareness so that others would get treated. It's one of those cancers that's so common and easily treated that most women don't realize it can still kill you if left unchecked.
I had a momentary burst of panic when I read that she died on Mother's Day. Didn't realize the States and the UK celebrate it on different dates and thought I'd sentenced myself to another year of maternal guilt-tripping.
Jane's kiddos and family are in my thoughts today.

Obviously the story has dominated the news over here today and while I'm not much on the whole celebrity love affair she was a young mother who was just a year older than me. She chose to go out in the best way possible, at home in her sleep surrounded by the people that love her.
It's always sad to hear about the loss of life but she went out fighting while making sure that her two young children will have a bright enough future, albeit without their mum. Not to mention the amount of lives she could potentially save by bringing it into the public spotlight.

Such a waste! Cervical cancer can be detected fairly accurately, and easily treated when caught early!
Just horrible. Have we learned NOTHING since Gilda died?
I went through several rough treatments for cervical dysplasia while in the military. They delayed treating mine for nearly a year, so I had to get more and more scary treatments, including surgery. But I'm alive, so I suppose it was worth it.
My condolences to her family.
