The body of a 3 year old girl was found in the Passaic River, shortly after police issued an Amber Alert. Her uncle had snatched the girl from the house and told his relatives to watch the news.

"Mendez told family members he was going to get something to eat yesterday morning, grabbed his niece while his sister slept and drove off, friends said. Family members searched for Mendez and called police after finding the abandoned car on the bridge."
