I live maybe 10 miles from there. I stay out of Birmingham if I can.

I think it does. He would have been beaten much worse than that only a few years ago.

The advent of mobile video has revolutionized the law enforcement industry. Both to assist the police and to prosecute them when they break the law. 10 years ago... this would have never made the news... and if it had... it would have been shot down in court because nobody would believe the police would do this... well... unless you were on the receiving end of the ass kicking. The driver is NOT guiltless... that is true... but the police are not a brute squad that can dispense justice at the end of a night stick. Its refreshing to see a swift, decisive action taken against the officers in question who, regardless of their motivation, crossed the line from enforcers of the law, to a mob.

Does it really count as abuse and beating if the guy is obviously unconscious from being thrown from a speeding vehicle? I mean, he was unconscious and so never experienced an attack. That's how I beat all my rape trials.

I grew up around there. And the whole video, I keep going, "Hey, that's where my cousin lived and I'd go visit her" or "Hey, I took karate at that place they're zooming by." I couldn't believe that dude was able to weave through traffic by the Galleria and get back on the freeway. I can't do that when I'm not speeding, much less when I'm running from the cops. Then again, maybe people were getting out of the way with sirens approaching. From now on, I want a police escort everywhere! ...except the clink.

I just watched this again and realized I was mistaken about where it happened. I work less than two miles from there. Lilyang, it sounds like we have the same stomping grounds.
