My Brief Life as a Woman Posted: 6 months ago by dollyllama
The tears would usually pour down when I got ambushed by some old tune: “Sweet Baby James” and “Fire and Rain” by James Taylor, “That’s the Way I’ve Always Heard It Should Be” by Carly Simon and, yes, “It’s My Party” by Lesley Gore. Not only was I temporarily menopausal, but it appeared that I was also turning into a teenage girl from the early 1970s.

Nice that he's feeling all supportive now, but he did not "live life as a woman."
He lived life as a person whose hormones are not in control.
That does not automatically equal woman.

No, but it's closer than most guys will ever get. And I'm sure that to many men, that's exactly what they see women as--out of control, purely hormonal. He was dealing with an abundance of female hormones, so it's closer than just not having any male hormones.

My dear late partner, Peter, also underwent hormonal treatment for advanced prostate cancer. During that time, he, too, suffered from hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms and we used to joke that were were going through the change together.
However, his musical, food and beverage tastes stayed as macho as ever.
I hope the author's treatment caught the beast in time.
