Sorry, but a paleontologist handling 800000 year old remains like that ? Highly irresponsible.
And it really doesn't change any views on the evolution of humans, only the distribution of the population of human ancestors. (If they are indeed our ancestors, not some offshoot like Neanderthal Man) It doesn't overturn anything, only adds more information.
Anyway, what is to expect from a tabloid like the Daily Fail.

I agree with the views of the rest of your post, but who better than to handle the remains of an 800,000 year-old figure than a paleontologist? Especially the one(s) who found it?

Not really getting your argument about that. I think he's talking about the picture of the palaeontologist holding the skull

I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing though, I doubt he's a n00b >_< Ok, I think I get the original point now. Still, doesn't seem a major infraction, to me, to hold it up for a photo, especially since there was more than one, and apparently they were in good shape.
