For the longest time rumours have been rife about an tablet computer from Apple with nothing concrete confirmed. It seems that all the while Microsoft have been quietly developing their own and now it's at an advanced prototype stage theyv'e started to share details.

This looks sexy. I almost thought it was an Apple product at first.
Microsoft's operating systems have many years behind their belt when it comes to touchscreen and tablet PC experience, so they have a lot going into this project. I'm actually excited to see what this could bring.
They definitely are a great thing for students. When my first laptop died, I got a tablet PC to replace it, and used it throughout my final year in college. All my notes were taken on the touchscreen. It was MUCH better than dealing with lots of notebooks and paper.
