Not the first place it's been suggested but this site pulls together a lot of the conjecture that the real reason Megrahi was released was to stop the release of the evidence that would have not only proved his innocence but also show the justice system that convicted him in a damning light.

The Libyans gave him up.
Would they have done that had he been the mastermind behind the Lockerbie bombing?
What I would like to know is if this guy in Denver is the real deal or not. So many questions about him and his arrest that you can't believe any of the story versions so far released.

Lots of queries about this case. Why would the Libyans have given him into British custody when they have never given any up for shooting the policewoman outside their London Embassy let alone admitting it was a person inside the embassy who shot her?
All the fuss made about him having a website to proclaim his innocence as well. Wouldn't anyone who proclaimed to be innocent do anything they can to prove it?
