Dr. Marci Bowers, of Mt. San Rafael Hospital in Trinidad Colorado offers hope to untold number of women who have had their clitoris cut off as a form of control. She performs surgery that provides a new clitoris, removes pain, and restores pleasure. She refuses to charge for her services saying you cannot charge money to reverse a crime against humanity.

Thanks for posting this, 2many! I was in tears through most of the article, but it made me so happy that there are options for FGM victims, and that the doc here in the US is doing it for no pay.

There are actually methods of restoring the appearance of a foreskin available for home application.
Can we avoid going through that debate again? You know, the one that compares clipping a bit of skin off, with yes, granted, some reduced sensitivity, to the COMPLETE REMOVAL OF PLEASURE? One done in a hospital, by trained medical professionals with a full array of tools, equipment and treatment versus being done with a bit of sharp glass in a dirty back room by someone with no professional training? One that leaves the 'victim' with little noteworthy consequence versus one that ruins what should be one of life's greatest joys? One that is done in a misguided push for hygiene versus one that is done to control and dominate and manipulate half the population?

Guess not.
It's been discussed. I'm not arguing that circumcision makes sense or is even a good idea, but it is not the same as FGM. The rational, the setting, the consequences...Just not the same.
So get over it. I won't say more.

Ya know, I know this is a serious article and all, and I'm glad to see that a talented surgeon can work this wonder, but on a lighter note...Can she give me a clitoris too? I mean SRSLY I'm not all about going the whole way and being a transsexual, or a M2F, but having a clitoris would be hella good times. You just same place it is on girls, give me one there too thanks, boobs? I like um but not on me, vagina? I dig those too but wouldn't want to take delivery of one. But a joy button above my joystick? Who WOULDN'T want that?
