I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand...you do want to know but, on the other hand...it might be better not to. I'm a child of my parents so it's not really fair that I speak on this. But I did.

Actually it's important to be aware of the health history of your parents.

You should have the right to know if you may be susceptible to a genetic disease/malady. With today's increasingly improved medical technology, that awareness might be the knowledge that creates a healthier life.

Honestly, all they're proposing is switching to the same rights and process available to the adopted. Nothing in this article even mentions support, and since it's talking about when the "child" reaches age 19... I can't see the problem.

My perspective on this is: "I wasn't planning to donate anonymously anyway." I have considered donation, as, well, look at the economy and take a guess as to why I'd take those matters to hand. But I can't see declaring anonymity. I am a hard man to shame, since there is a lot of good in perpetuating the species this way.

I do want kids at some point, but right now... I don't think I can afford the upkeep. Any children of my seed would be well cared for. And donors get paid. That is a LOT of upside here.
