From a lucky rabbits foot to a severed human's foot (or other parts). Quite the radical superstitious jump. I'm pretty sure a better way to ensure a successful business would be not not hide hacked up bodies in your building. But then again what do I know.

As the old saying goes, a lucky rabbit's foot isn't so lucky for the rabbit. Whatever the truth may be in this particular case, it's still true that some people practice this sort of thing. And it makes plain how self-interest, regardless the expense to others, is alive & well amongst homo sapiens, the other Great Ape.

I've heard of a similar practice in Germany and I beleive other parts of Europe as well where people entomb living puppies and kittens in the concrete of front door stoops for good luck as well... The Dark Ages sure left some deep folkway gouges, no?

In the many ancient cultures, people would sacrifice a child and entomb them in the walls of a new house for good luck and blessings of the gods.

hard to believe such barbaric practices are still being committed.
