When I was a kid in the early '70s, I got myself in trouble many times for getting "lost" at the public library looking at microfilm of old newspapers. Time would stand still while I sifted through the, what seemed to me at the time, ancient texts and pictures. This is just what the Dr.Ordered.

The Times being restricted for this long has done nothing more than turn my eye toward competing sources. Now I go to the BBC first, and the paper will have a tough time winning me back.

I worked in a college library for awhile. I used to get lost in the stacks, just sit down and read anything I could find...that was an awesome job.

Finally! I actually signed up for the "trial" at one point to get an article, missed the opt out, and paid $7.95 for one article.

But...it was worth it.

Glad their opening this up. Wish the other columns would be available too.
