I for one am sick of spam. Time to throw it back in the face of the spammers. Posted: 2 years ago by davbob
Having read this thread I did a little research about how to combat spam. Spamitback is a program that spams spammers, thousands of times a day, everyday, and you can join in and add your own personal spammers to the already huge database.

Although I'm not sure about legal consequences, I'd really like to let them know where the punch came from. Maybe something like
"Dear Cody,
as a member of Plime.com I really appreciate your daily updates on internet marketing. Thank you, and keep up the good work!

Cheers,
Username"
And that 100.000 times from each of us.

To both webadmin@xodoinc.com and cody.moya@xodoinc.com.

The problem with doing it that way is most ISPs would get a tad upset at sending out so many emails per day. This program circumvents this by utelising the spammers own ISP, somehow, I think.

Read the FAQ, and it bypasses your ISP to send directly to the spammers account. You can customize the message, as well as how often it's submitted.

I'm thinking of trying it for all the spammers that hit aquarium board.

Patience, my young padawans. I think we should probably consult Jax before proceeding with a full scale retaliation plan. If he OKs, then I'm all for it.

But how do you really know the spammer's e-mail address? Most of the spam I get is from made-up addresses or hijacked addresses.

I dunno - just slows the networks down by adding more email traffic. I say we take internet away from Nigeria until they smarten up!

I like to mess with the people who send me real mail. like those self addressed stamped envelopes that credit card companies send you so you can send back your application. try stuffing it full of other junk mail you get, or coupon inserts from the newspaper and send it back. it doesn't cost you a thing. of course you don't get the joy of seeing the look on their faces when they open your credit card "application" and get buy one get one free macaroni and cheese coupons.

There was a bee in my kitchen a few months ago. My dad was going to kill it, and the nearest piece of junk was one of those self addressed prepaid credit card envelopes. So he trapped it in the envelope and squished it. He then walked to the garbage to drop it in, but when he reached the garbage he had a better idea. He licked and sealed the envelope and sent it out with the postman.

I think this is a great idea but the looks mostly dead since 2004. There were some sporadic posts made on the forum but looks like the mods have not changed it much since 2004.
Is anyone on Plime using this program currently?

yeah the problem is most of the spam mail your getting are from comps that are hacked... so all your doing is causing the person who has the virus on their system more grief....
