Muslim medics refuse to roll up their sleeves in hygiene crackdown - because it's against their religion Posted: 8 months ago by AutumnLotus
Health officials are having crisis talks with Muslim medical staff who have objected to hospital hygiene rules because of religious beliefs. Women medical students at Alder Hey children's hospital in Liverpool objected to rolling up their sleeves when washing their hands and removing arm coverings in theatre, claiming it is regarded as immodest.

O... M.... G....
For the LAST time, fire them, kick them out of Med School, send them packing WHATEVER.
If ANYONE won't do what is needed to SAVE LIVES and such (just like the other 675043 posts on Muslims not being willing to do this or that as Doctors) then they need to find a new profession and do so immediately.
I am so sick of this!!! /wrists

If you don't take the neccasary precautions as a DOCTOR to help me then I don't want you. I don't care if you're going to hell. I don't want your droopy sleeves hanging down into my gaping wound

Heh.
Ironically, it were the muslims that led the basis for modern hygien practice described above. People should learn there own history.

That's ridiculous. As a Muslim, I would say one of the most annoying things that a lot of muslims do is take the words of god too literally. If they knew any better, they should know that god asks us to do our jobs the best ways we can or not do it at all. They should have known that they would be asked to roll up their sleeves at some point just as they would be required to interact with people from the opposite sex in all their medical career. If they're not up to dealing with something as little as rolling up your sleeve, then maybe they shouldn't have gone to med school.
