True, but donating $40 bucks a month sounds like a lot until you find out the person makes 100k a year. So what if it's not a larger portion of their income? It's money that can be well used by those charities.

More than that tho, what I admire most about them is they are so incredibly hands-on, with everything from traveling with their kids to rebuilding in New Orleans, to testifying at congressional hearings. Agreed. I cannot stand it when Hollywood rolls out the limos for see-and-be-seen events disguised as charities and political events. It galls me that everyone swoons when a drug-addled narcissist ties their name to a cause when it's really about image for them as much as anything else.
The same cannot be said for the Pitts- It's also one of the main reasons I like Jimmy Carter. Say what you will about his presidency, but he believed what he preached, and he walks the walk. He and Reagan were the last two presidents that were what they appeared to be, for good or bad. (Yes, I know- Reagan napped through the last three years of his term.. Me bf and I have already decided that if we won the lottery, we would donate a crapload. Maybe sponsor like a few villages in random third world countries. My grandparents won the lottery many years ago, it's all gone now, but not once did they use it to even try to make a difference.
