I'd pull a Lebowski and fill the bag of "cash" with "the whites." Once I got to the exchange my buddy would hop out with an automatic weapon and we'd get the ring back pro bono.

This is what happens when you F a stranger in the ass! So the finder wanted to charge the man $1000 for a $4000 ring and this makes him an asshat who is Fing a stranger in the ass. He could have kept it after all.
Now the jeweler sold the man a $400 ring for $4000 and he is just a smart business man and not an asshat at all.
And the diamond company took a relatively common stone and artificially drove the price to skyrocket values making them an even better business people but I guess they aren't asshats nor are the F'ing a stranger. (well disregarding the "blood" aspect to the diamonds.
