A Marine sergeant who became a symbol of resilience as he strove to recover from a roadside bomb blast in Iraq that blanketed 97 percent of his body with burns has died, the Defense Department said. He was 22.

I work at a military installation, so I always hate to hear of all the casualities.

Sounds like he was an amazing man. A lot of courage for a 22 year old.

He was listed as a casualty of war when he got burned, so yes.

Wait... how did he die?! I know that he was badly injured... but I'm pretty sure I saw an interview with him recently!
