A fire brigade has been accused of wasting taxpayers' money after sending two engines and seven firemen to rescue a seagull. The brigade struggled for more than an hour to save the injured bird, which was trapped on a factory roof in Bridgwater, Somerset.

Although I can appreciate it meant something to the bird and sometimes you get valuable rescue training in the midst of the rescue, it is still an animal and you are putting firefighters at risk to do that.
Had a firefighter been injured (Workers comp) or killed there would have been an uproar over that.
I wanna say to people all the time who see cats "stuck" in the tree...
"Have you ever seen a skeleton in a tree??"
