Court Ruling Could Mean The End Of 'Bratz' Dolls Posted: 12 months ago by punthe
A federal judge in California on Wednesday ordered MGA Entertainment Inc to stop selling its popular Bratz dolls and banned it from using the Bratz name, finding that "hundreds" of Bratz products infringe on copyrights owned by rival toymaker Mattel Inc.

Is it just me, or is anybody else anxious to see this one through? I don't have kids myself, but I have 3 young nieces and I happen to find these dolls to be terrible. They portray females in a slutty manner. I think they are a horrible idea for children's toys. Definitely NOT a role model-type.

But, Mattel is just suing because they're losing revenue to the Bratz dolls. I think this will be overturned.

I have this 7-year-old cousin who is a total skank-in-training, and I don't find it unrelated at all that she has Bratz wallpaper, Bratz bedsheets, Bratz cardboard cut-outs, and various Bratz accessories and dolls.
But you know, whatever. Different parenting styles. I personally wouldn't want to encourage my daughter to be a skanky whore who sexually solicits the little boys on the playground, but who am I to judge those who do want their daughters to be loose and easy?

Oh, you mean that parents should take some responsibility for how our kids behave and stop blaming the media? Hmmmm...but then if they end up being "bratz" then it's our own fault...no I'd much rather blame Mattel.
Sarcasm aside, I wouldn't allow my daughter (who is only 16 months now) to dress like those dolls. If she wants to play with them, well I guess every personality should be represented in the toy box...nothing like diversity.

This will make my 11 yr old happy - she's been rallying her friends to "protest" the Bratz dolls all school year. I'm not sure exactly how they planned to protest, but it made me happy to know that they all think the dolls are creepy and dress inappropriately.

YAY! This makes my job easier. My daughter (8) BEGS me to get her these toys. NEVER is my answer. But, how will they curb all the look-alike clothing lines out. I swear. It's hard to find "little-girl" clothes. Only little skank-in-training clothes like the brat dolls. (thanks INY for the terminology :D)

Thank GOD!!!! My daughter is only 3, and hasnt asked for them, but I would NEVER buy them for her. They look like little whores. Heck, even the baby Bratz looked like little whores in training. I dont even like the horses they make. I so hope that Bratz are taken off the shelf.
When I had my daughter, I notified the family that if they EVER bought her a Bratz, it would be taken back to the store, no questions asked. I will NOT allow those dolls in my house.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I have bought these in the past for niece and a friend's daughter. I made sure I found the most "demure" outfit possible. It wasn't easy.
