I'm actually a cook at Denny's. They scheduled a bunch of us for tuesday a couple weeks ago and didn't tell us why until the end of last week. When I found out I thought it was a joke. Luckily I'm not scheduled until 5:00 PM, when the promotion is over. It's a great deal, but think about the employees who are suffering through this.

Did anybody read the fine print? It actually says that it doesn't apply in half of the college towns in CA. That's just plain funny to me.

The bacon thread is probably the most avidly read thing on Plime.

So there was about 20 people on the lawn near the Denny's at my work at about 10:00 AM. I figured I would pop over at 12:30 for a free (weird) lunch. Silly me, there were about 30 people waiting on the lawn then. All for a five dollar meal. Meh, whatever. I walked back to work and ate the lunch I brought with me.

so i get there around 6:0something with my friend.
I noticed it looked packed from the cars.
but me and him, go in anyways, and see. we open the doors stand there, in a crowd of around 25 people and hear that there is a waiting list that is going to take atleast an hour, possibly 2.
he signed up for number 20 somethin. then we decided it really wasnt worth it so we got mcgrittles.
there was a catch.
you have to dine in, and expect to get a table after 5:00.
:( better luck next time i guess

I wonder how much it cost them to do this ya know?
I bet each store dropped at least $10,000.
That's actually not bad considering the attention/customers it brought in.
Do you think it will pay off in the long run or do more harm than good?
