This comment was spurred by seeing a men's hair coloring commercial on tv. They used the song "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream. I found this nauseating and promptly threw up.
My point here is...have we lost control of our own country?
Example:Endless war, foreclosures, gas prices, climate change, deficits, cancelled flights, no immigration policy, recession, wall street bail outs, Iraq, Iran, taxes, food prices, health insurance, steroids, terrorists, lying politicians, Britney Spears!
Speak up people, this may be your last chance.

I think we have become such a "ME" society we've lost track on how good we had it. and due to the "ME" mentality we have driven this country into the ground. IMO people should stop complaining and start doing. take pride in the country instead of pointing out flaw when they could do no better. Someone needs to slap the shit out of the liberal media and tell them to give us the facts not their opinionated view of the news. we need more rationality and less closed mindedness.

It's really sad how far we've degenerated as a country. I know it's not something that's happened in just a few years, we've been in a downward spiral for decades - it's just that everything is coming to a head.
What really makes me sick is the thought that our selfish ways are something that our children and grandchildren are going to have to rectify.

I' disgusted by the way money seems to rule all. I'm not American or living in America, but I see it everywhere.
Politicians are full of empty promises, and back hands from big business. People are more worried about the latest trainers than the state of the NHS. And complaining is the latest hobby, with no one trying to make a change.

We've lost control of the planet. I think we expanded too fast and we, as a human race, didn't really pause to think about the consequences.
News reports of food shortages scare me quite a bit, but that may be because I can't get my stupid peppers to grow. All of my other little plantlings are growing up happily in their little egg cartons, but the peppers? Oh no, those habaneros are just too classy to grow up in the egg carton, I suppose.
*ahem* sorry. Little rant there.
I think most people are either too naive to realize that things are starting to get bad, FAST, or they're in denial.
While I'm not American nor do I live in the US, I've got a pretty decent vantage point up here and I don't think things are going well for you guys, and it doesn't look like it'll change any time soon.
As a concerned human, I sincerely hope you guys stay the hell out of Iran, though. I'm not in the mood for a global nuclear war.

« Bornbad : *Bump* Bring it on, people . What do you really feel about the way things are going? Dude. I think you took free association a little too far..
Here was my thought process.
1) It's a song by Cream, advertising hair products.
2) This makes me think that someone else owns the publishing rights to Cream's songs.
3) Like everything else in the sixties, it was given a place of importance far beyond its actual relevance.
*edit*
This are a serious thread, so I'll expound.
We, as a race are too numerous, too spoiled and yet with all our advances in technology, human nature remains as it ever was.
The media is too infatuated with it's ability to influence public opinion, politicians still become like every politician before them- That is, willing to sacrifice and compromise their principles for retain their place of power and relevance.
Rulers still rule by fear and intimidation, and at the end of the day, everyone wants to carve out their place of safety and security for themselves and their offspring, to greater or lesser extents, depending on the individual.
There is no counterbalance of sickness and famine, hardship and massive wars to keep us as a race in check. We have created our own massive empire as humans, on a grand scale, and it will collapse under its own weight.
