In some cases, they are worse compared to measurements taken 50 years ago. Disparity of income between the haves and the haves not--heck, between the haves and the middle class, as well as between the middle class and the have nots--has grown significantly. Pollutant levels haven't spiked a lot recently, but they have risen steadily since the Industrial Revolution. More people are seeking treatment to conceive than ever before (which arguably could be the result of more treatment options that are more affordable, but still is worrisome to me), and for certain cancers with environmental links, the number are edging up. Even AFTER taking into account the larger population size...These things are disturbing.

Sometimes I try to wrap my mind around the idea that if the people of a nation became `uncontrollable`, (for whatever reason, food shortages, gas shortages, power outages, terrorism, war, etc.) the only thing a government is going to try to preserve is itself.

People will be culled like...

So now I expect a `tin-foil hat` joke....that`s cool, at least we still have the luxury to joke around about it..our kids probably won`t.

am i the only one who loves canadian bacon and pineapple on my pizza? what up with that?

when you say government - who do you mean? government workers (bureaucrats/public administrators)? elected officials? military?

the government is mostly made up of civilians like us - in my opinion, if all hell breaks loose, the only people who will try to preserve themselves are the elitist elected officials through the power of the military - if the military doesn't decide to go rogue...

Canadian bacon and pineapple is the ONLY way to to have a pizza IMO....

I would assume that the elitist government officials have prepared for something like this already.

They have office-buildings full of people who do nothing but come up with contingency plans for occasions such as these.

They certainly have the gunpower, not to mention newer `non-lethal` methods which can parylize entire cities with EMP (electro-magnetic pulse) weapons which fry anything electronic, microwave radiation devices which can literally cook a crowd of people from the inside out with a push of a button, etc..... It`s going to get ugly.

Simple propaganda, and desensitization by internet is doing a pretty good job of keeping us calm now. We can vent our frustrations to a community of people who will pat us on the back, and tell us everything is ok, while rejecting anything that doesn`t fit into our 3-D fantasay..

Ignorance is bliss....I`ve never read anything more true...but can we afford that luxury?

This leads me to the big question of the hour:

What is Canadian Bacon?

Can you get Canadian Bacon in Canada? I've sure never seen it here....

It's not called Canadian bacon elsewhere. It's closer to thin-cut sliced, smoked ham usually called back bacon or peameal bacon elsewhere in the world. It's basically bacon made from a different cut of meat than traditional bacon.

Watch all seven if you get the time. They are very interesting & use sound to pretty good advantage.
