So I was reading this article.. and Hilary Clinton is just pissing me off now..
I mean I live in Michigan , I understand I wasn't able to vote for the candidate that I wanted b/c my state decided to move our primary foward early. But this has nothing to do with the 2000 election. If she was winning or up in the votes I don't think she would have thought twice about counting the Michigan or Florida votes. She's basically rallying people to not vote for Obama even if she loses now. I don't get it. She needs to drop out soon and tell her supporters to stick with the democrats and stop with the negative and missleading last minute efforts.. just my opinion..

on a seperate note..I give her props for getting this far but she needs to stop b4 she ruins her chances of running again or as a VP candidate.. Obviously the people are ready to vote for a woman and I dunno who would step up and for how long after she blows her chance.. no pun intended

Look, if she Ralph Nader's this election I am going to frickin' flip out. We finally have a chance for a genuine person to be in office who I believe could restore dignity and unity to the country, and a woman who I once respected is doing her best to be the fat kid who takes the boardgame home when he loses.
You lost, get over it. Now do what is best for your party, not for yourself. Altruism in politics IS patriotism, but considering that all our politicians are heartless millionaires nowadays, I'd say the likelihood of someone doing something that was a detriment to themselves but a boost to their party is very, very low.
Please concede, Hillary! Unite the dems, UNITE THEM!

Politicians are heartless millionares, yet you think there's one politician who can restore dignity and unity to the country?
You don't see something wrong with that statement?

Uhh, Obama was raised by a POOR single mother, he was not rich by any stretch, hell he went to school on student loans.
Sorry, but statements like that really piss me off. You are so blinded by your hatred for politicians that you don't even recognize a good one when you see it.

« theclansman : Obama was raised by a POOR single mother, How come the only mention Obama has made about the White side of his family was when he called out his grandmother as racist while defending Rev. Wright in a speech?
If he has before talked at length about his White side I would love links so that I can read what he said.
Obama's politics are my main problem with him. He is just too far to the left for my tastes.
Yes, he delivers a great speech but he stumbles just as bad as Bush when he is not reading a prepared piece of work.
It really ticks me off because I would love to vote for someone who is a fresh face at the national level but his politics just scare the s**t out of me!

We need to change the whole primary system.
Here's how it should work (imho).
The candidates get 3 months before their primary to campaign. They get $2 million each. They can't use their own money and they can't accept donations beyond the $2 million, and no one can donate more than $1000 to any one candidate.
There are 2 primary dates within the same week. 1 for Dems and one for Republicans. If you're independent you can vote in one or the other or none (just like now).
All of this takes place 6 months before the actual election. There are no conventions, there are not months of campaigning and back biting. There is no more than 2 debates in the 3 month period prior to the primary.
The primary decides the candidate. No caucuses, just vote, all the votes are counted and there should be no draw.
For the campaign between the two chosen candidates they get six months and $5 million, same rules apply on donations.
This endless campaigning and debating and delegates and conventions and whose got more money and whose spending more money and all the rest is bull and it's not even remotely a fair or reasonable system.

« hOOsker : you forgot the part about needing more then 2 parties. Oh there can still be more parties, but as of now they don't need any rules. They barely get any money and they aren't included in primaries.
So they can campaign for the same period as the others (9 months total). If any party besides the dems or pubs gets a foothold and the party starts to have more than a handful of followers then an additional primary day can be added but the same rules still apply.

I'd rather hear him give a speech about his stance on certain things then to get up there and talk about the "white" side of his family.. b/c everyone knows once he did that people would just say he was trying too hard to connect with the white voters.. people know about his white family members, he discussed them when it was appropriate and race was brought up.. but I disagree and think that maybe that shouldn't be the focus point of any of his speeches.. I'd rather hear him talk about health care or something..
