Totally! Discover has gotten really bad since being sold a few years back. My father in law, with stellar a-1 credit, was refused a rate below 10%, although he had that rate previously, and they put his rate at almost 20%!!!!!!!!!!!

He now has AmEx, they did a balance transfer at 0% for a year and then locks in at 9%...

My Discover card fiasco included their utter refusal to honor the terms of the disability insurance I had paid into for 10 years, fees that increased my $1400 balance to over $3K in 8 months, and then when I accepted their payoff, they W-2'd me for the remainder, which was actually their (illegal) fees!!!!

Hate them. Don't really need a card now, but hubby is trying to pay down 3 of em....

I've always hated credit cards. I have one, but the limit is $500 and it only gets used in periods of absolute need. All these companies offering cards are just trying to boost their profits. The greedy beggars.
