This is just another example of...sorry, I hear a little girl screaming out my patio door. She stopped. I guess they caught her. Where was I? Oh yeah, another example of someone trying to twist the system for $$$$$.

yes, another case where it shouldn't be able to taken to court. She should have to pay royally for the expenses that all will encur thanks to the greedy biotch.

She was ticked with one of Georgia's 1,248 outdated "obscenity" laws. The courts ruled that the law was indeed outdated and unconsitutional and threw it out.

Case closed. End. of. story. She was not abused. She did not have her rights taken from her. She was ticked for what was a crime at the time. The fact that the courts thew out the law doesn't mean that she can sue for damages.

Whether or not she's right to sue, it's pretty amazing that she was given a ticket in March of 2006 for a law that was declared unconstitutional in 1990. I also think she's probably looking for a fast buck, but that cop probably needs some kind of internal departmental discipline.

Jerks like this make all the rest of us who own "I'm Tired Of All The BUSH**" bumper-stickers look bad.

tomphoolry, the problem is it happened in Georgia. Not a place known for its liberal thinking. Such laws tend to stick around in the minds of cops and others.

Read the story again. She was ticketed with a law that was ruled unconstitutional 15 years ago!

Constitutionality doesn't mean a thing anymore. The Ohio Supreme Court has ruled multiple times that funding schools through property taxes is unconstitutional. Yet they continue to collect taxes and pass levies this way. It's sickening.

Let's see, she probably was made late for whereever she was going. She was stopped and ticketed for a law ruled outdated 15 years earlier. Most likely had to take time off from work (or at least an interruption in her life for this, which could well have been for several hours, possibly days if she pled not-guilty and asked for a trial) may have had to hire a lawyer.

I'd sue the cop for a dollar and maybe wake some of the conservative, anti-first-amendment people up.
