Really though, how far off are we? Airlines can kick passengers off planes for skimpy outfits. It's the tip of an ugly iceberg.
What offends one persons morals and sensabilities, is perfectly fine to someone else and when we start becoming the moral police (such as kicking people off the plane) for, not out right nudity, but what offends one or two people, we then have decided what is acceptable for everyone. Not good.
It's the little things, they seem little, but they are part of bigger more dangerous picture. Banning tag, banning peanut butter, banning perfume...it's all part of a whole of government intervention into your life.
When congress convenes a special session to determine if you have the right to die a dignified death or should be carried by life support endlessly, that's a problem because it's an invasion into a personal decision. It's a slippery slope that's difficult to climb out of, as evidenced by the generation in Iran trying to climb out of post-Shah religious totalitarianism.
Yes it is unbelievable what is happening to America. All of what Dolly said and so much more.
Another thing is the dumbing down of America. It is becoming a social crime to excel. People are looking at those who are smarter, faster, stronger, etc as depriving others of what they deserve.
More and more schools are banning spelling bees, the publication of honor roll is verboten in many schools, etc. People are more concerned that someone's feeling might be hurt than to help that person do better.
They are acting as if you tell someone they are special than they will at least feel special.
This is a large part of why America has fallen so far behind in technology, why so many people graduate with no work skills, yet demand that the government pay them $25 per hour.
Very sad.
Also the Thought Police are out in force. So many actions that are basic human freedoms are being looked on as crimes because it offends someone or even might offend someone.

I know! It's less about acting based on our rights and more about making decisions to avoid offence. I think it's fear of getting blown up or sued that is preventing more people from respectfully speaking their opinions. [I don't really care for people who consider themselves 'above' showing basic decency and respect for his/her fellow humans; that individual, IMO, is not excercising his/her human rights - he/she is just being a prick.]

Honestly, are governments REALLY necessary? Seriously, it seems that all they really do is cause more hate and suffering and confusion and manipulation and scheming and killing and destruction and all this in the name of something that people are duped into believing is really a worthy cause.
I propose a new age ... of ... the individual ... or some such. Why not? Can't be any worse.
