Most Americans know very little about the workings of the U.S. Supreme Court or its members, but mention Justice Clarence Thomas, and you are likely to start an argument. He is the court's only African American, and its most conservative member. He is arguably the most influential black man in the country, yet he is reviled by many in his own race for his opposition to government programs intended to help minorities.

I watched this last night as I was cleaning things up for the night at work. He's an inspiring man.

I wish people could just be judged as people rather than representatives of their races.

I do understand what you are saying, but when certain groups of people have been targeted and will be targeted, you look to those in positions of power for direction and assistance.

It might be wrong to expect people of your same race to sympathize with you but people do it eeryday.

They do the same thing to Coolin Powell who is a great man but daily someone from his race is saying his is not black enough!
