Well on the surface it sounds funny, but Musharraf is trying to be a general and run a country as a strong arm. A lot different than what Bush wants of him. He wants him to be a president and let his generals run the military, not a military leader running a country.

taken completly out of context...when you see what he was really talking about you understand...happens with most of bush's "stupid" quotes...i'm not endorsing the guy but a lot of what he says is taken out of context

Did anyone else notice that the way Musharraf declared martial law looks a lot like the plan laid out by the Bush Administration in National Security Presidential Directive 51?

NSPD-51, for those of you that have no idea what I'm talking about, says that if there were to be a (ridiculously broadly defined) "catastrophic emergency", the Executive Branch would take full control of the government. It was barely reported when it was released on May 9th of this year(I heard about it from Randi Rhodes on Air America), but it's available to look at right on the White House website.

Did you also know that Pakistan policy has been run out of Cheney's office, instead of the State Department, as is customary?
